John

Chair, Training Officer & Coach

I joined TASCC in 2015 when my Daughters paddled with their Junior School. I helped out as a parent helper then joined the Adult section to improve my own paddling skills. In 2018 I became a Paddlesport instructor and was nominated as Chairman of the Club Succeeding Mat Bawden who started the club in 2009.
We have a great team that help with the week to week running of the club of which I’m very greatful to have them as part of this amazing team.

Cathy Meet The Team

Cathy

Secretary

I've been with the club since 2017 (I think!) I especially love our paddles up through Longrun Meadow & helping out with the swim safety teams for Exmoor Open Water Swim & the Minehead Triathlon. I started paddling so I had a place for me to be just Cathy, rather than Mum/Wife/Therapist. I love being part of this club & am so grateful for all the friendships I've made here.

Megan

Coach

I joined TASCC when I was 8 and over the years I have learnt skills in a range of watercraft, my favourite being the kayak. I love being a part of the club and since May 2022, when I got my paddle sports instructor qualification, I have been teaching others the skills that I have learnt through the years of being here.

Mel

Vice Chair, Welfare Officer & Coach

I started my kayak journey with TASCC in 2013 after seeing a notice at my grandson's primary school appealing for new members and the chance to train as a helper. Ever since I first sat in a kayak the club has taken me on a wonderful journey, learning new skills and providing great support, friendship. Giving me the confidence to achieve my instructors qualification and help others enjoy all aspects of water sports age no barrier I started at 51 give it a go you won't regret it.

You can speak to me if you have any safeguarding concerns.

I participated in a Learn to Paddle course in 2018 and from then on I was hooked, I love de-stressing on the river on a Friday evening. I enjoy kayaking and paddleboarding both on the river and in the sea. I'm part of the committee as the club's Safeguarding Officer, Social Media and Website Lead. I also organise some social events!
